Some thoughts of Barbara Vennell:
“You may have tangible wealth untold;
caskets of jewels and coffers of gold.
Richer than I you can never be.
I had a mother who read to me.”
-- Strickland Gillian
I love those words by Strickland Gillian and celebrate their truth in my life. My mother enjoyed reading and made sure books were a part of all of her children's lives. I continued that same tradition with my own daughter and I know it will continue for generations to come. Mother's Day is a great time to remember all the people, librarians, teachers, friends, and especially mothers, who make our lives richer by sharing their love of literature!
Happy Mother's Day!
